Education Scholarship Fellowship
The Education Scholarship Fellowship is designed to develop leaders in medical education who are primed for impactful engagement within academic medicine. Fellows who successfully complete the program will be prepared for independent pursuits in education scholarship and have the essential experience and skill set to immediately assume leadership positions within education, whether Graduate Medical Education, Undergraduate Medical Education, or CME focused.
The fellowship provides a broad range of exposure to the landscape of education with intensive experiential learning opportunities in education administration and leadership, adult learning theory, curriculum and instructional design, educational technology, learner assessment, teaching methodologies, program evaluation, career development, and education scholarship among others. Fellows will be expected to successfully complete the Medical Education Master’s program through the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania. Acceptance to the program is guaranteed for our fellows. This innovative program combines experts in medicine, leadership, research, education, and other fields in an executive format that allows students to develop necessary skills and knowledge to become teachers of teachers, education scholars, and influencers.
Fellows will have necessary time protection and access to resources in order for them to engage fully in fellowship requirements and activities. An accomplished core faculty will lead individual learning sessions and provide mentorship in career development and scholarship. Additionally, fellows have access to content experts outside of the Department of Emergency Medicine and will have ample opportunity to build collaborative relationships.
